Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her mother was at home as a mother. Michael Dennis Kevin is her three elder siblings. McCormick is always a fan of performing, dancing and putting on puppet shows. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 which led to a call from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she would like to enter the show industry. McCormick was hired to star in her first major role in 1964 in the tv spot for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year, she starred for another firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was soon selected for The Brady Bunch La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1,200 youngsters to be one of the oldest twins in The Brady Bunch TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice released in 2008, McCormick admitted that in the shows fifth season she almost lost her virginity to her screen co-star and brother Barry Williams. In 2008, McCormick disclosed in her book, Here's the story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Identifying My True Voice, that during season five on the show, she was close to losing her virginity to Barry Williams. She told me, but the timing wasn't right for us.
