Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen was an athlete of natural talent who loved to play tough sports games. Her talent for performing was an ideal complement to her passion for sports. It was evident by her receiving nearly every Feis awards for drama and musical performances that her country could offer. In her teens, she had been accepted to the Abbey Theater, where her passion for classical theatre and operatic music was pursued. This course was to be altered, however, when Charles Laughton, after seeing screenings of Maureen and was mesmerized by her hauntingly beautiful eyes. Laughton altered the name of Maureen's FitzSimons changed from Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara" it was a diminutive version of her previous name. The name change happened prior to Laughton decided to use her for Jamaica Inn. Maureen FitzSimons' upcoming film (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame 1939) was to be filmed by RKO Pictures in America under an agreement with Laughton. Maureen's contract with Laughton was purchased by RKO following this film had such an enormous success. Maureen was only 19 when she starred with Laughton in two of her films.
